I just dial down on the expectations. When I dial down on how many gifts I feel like I “need” to buy, and how many fancy meals I “need “to cook or make, and I decorate however little or much I want, it becomes a whole lot more manageable. Learning to set boundaries and when to say no is also helpful. This year I suggested a secret Santa with a bunch of family members and it’s taking so much stress off of the gift buying. Another family gathering offered to do a secret Santa as well, and I just flat out am politely declining!
I always come away with something helpful from these post. Thank you!

Thank you. There's something besides isolation, which is how I usually cope.
These are excellent suggestions. Thank you!!
This is the most excellent advice. Thank you, Dr. B!
Such great suggestions. Many of these are helpful not just during the holidays, but at any time of extra stress - especially sleep. Thanks!
