Great read. You might want to check out Pi, by inflection. Another AI but I’m pretty sure it’s been trained as a therapist even though the presentation for it is packaged as a personal assistant. I’ve had quite therapeutic conversations with it, and I can tell the way it talks with me is based on CBT.

Great article! Gets right to the benefit of AI for all of us. Just has to be managed and not let take over. Lazy therapists will abuse it but the majority will use safely and again we’ll all benefit.

In recent months I tried to start seeing a new primary care doctor. The first visit she came off as cold and all business. The second visit was worse, as she demanded to know why I had not completed "orders" she had left for me. She tried requiring me to complete those redundant orders or would not grant my medical clearance for hip surgery. I sat there in front of her with my head in my hands saying "You are not listening to me all I need is a basic medical clearance I've already done all the required tests." She would not relent and I left the appointment. I made it to the car before my rage turned into tears. I have rarely met a human with less empathy than that doctor. And sadly I don't think she is that uncommon. Empathy training should be required of medical professionals. Or at least they could learn how to fake it.

A bit creeped out and worried…what about ethics? What happens if AI behaves unethically? How does AI handle Informed consent?
